Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00AM Presented by Prof. Jonathon Howard from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology & Genetics-Germany
What makes the problem of the biochemical and biophysical basis of cell shape and motion so fascinating is that somehow molecules coordinate the assembly and movement of cells, whose dimensions are thousands to millions of times larger. What are the organizing principles?
Our research is focused on the mechanics of the cytoskeleton, especially microtubules and microtubule-associated proteins.
