The Monash Bioinformatics Platform is a new platform that will provide high-end bioinformatics support and training as well as facilitating collaboration across Monash University’s research groups and facilities. The Platform is currently strong in structural/proteomic capability and is now aiming to expand and develop its capability in genomics to serve one of the largest biomedical research communities in Australia. It will also be the hub for a distributed network of bioinformaticians embedded across the University and a partner in technical training and infrastructure development.
As part of its strategic development, we are seeking to recruit bioinformaticians into this emerging Monash Bioinformatics Platform. This will cover a wide range of genomics experience including clinical disease based as well as microbial genomics. We are looking to recruit staff who are interested in joining a team of bioinformaticians that support and collaborate with a vast network of talented biomedical researchers. Applicants with considerable experience in Next-Gen Sequencing data analysis, bioinformatics software application/database development and/or statistical analysis are especially encouraged to apply. A passion for facilitating hands-on training to an eager research community is desired. The position will report to the Director of the Monash e-Research Centre.
