The research of Curtin University’s Nanochemistry Research Institute bridges the physical sciences of nanotechnology and the life sciences of biotechnology.
Specifically biotechnology related activities being carried out with collaborating institutions include controlled delivery of conventional drugs, growth factors and anti-sense genes, insulin mimetics, computer simulation of intermolecular forces in DNA, novel approaches to iron overload diseases, lactose separation and utilisation, guided tissue engineering, biomimetics, biomineralisation, and implantable materials.
