The 2013 Winter School in Mathematical & Computational Biology will be held from 1- 5 July 2013 at Queensland Bioscience Precinct, on the St Lucia campus of The University of Queensland.

Early bird: To 19 June 2013
Normal full registration: 20 to 25 June 2013
The theme of this year’s Winter School is “From genomes to ecologies”. Specific topics are:
- Next-generation sequencing & bioinformatics
- Next-generation sequencing: mutations, disease & algorithms
- Ecologies & populations
- Systems & synthetic biology
This year we have presenters from top universities and research institutes across Australasia (Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney) and from Japan and USA. All presenters are recognised authorities who will make their topic accessible to and exciting for non-specialists and specialists alike.
Bioplatforms Australia and EMBL Australia offer a limited number of travel bursaries to undergraduate and postgraduate students at Australasian and/or other regional institutions to participate in the 2013 Winter School. Important dates are as follows:
Applications open: 20-31 May 2013
Applications close: 31 May 2013
Notification of outcome: 7 June 2013
