Terry Speed: a pattern is emerging

It was a great pleasure to see Professor Terry Speed's smiling face on the news tonight after he received the 2013 Prime Minister's Prize for Science.

It is great to see Terry's outstanding contributions to science receive this kind of recognition, and, in addition to the influx of emails to which I have just added, I would also like to publicly congratulate Professor Speed on this richly deserved award.

...and I would also like to point to a pattern that is, perhaps, starting to emerge.

Readers of The Pipeline will note the acknowledgement of previous awards to Professor Speed [1, 2] on 24 November 2012, and 13 May 2013 respectively.

With the announcement today 30 October 2013 of the PM's Prize for Science, these things are coming in at 170 day intervals!!!!

I'm laying odds something big is due April 18 next year.
