How to meet up, make friends and influence people

The recent inaugural Sydney Computational Biologists’ Meetup is a brilliant example of how we can all become better connected to nearby colleagues.

This is exactly the sort of activity that the Australian Bioinformatics Network wants to encourage and support.

So, here is an offer: if you would like to organise a Meetup Group relevant to Australian bioinformatics in your home city, town, village or hamlet, please read about what is involved in organising a Meetup Group, then

If your Group fits with the ABN’s purpose we will pay the Organizer Dues and $100 towards refreshments at your first meeting.

PS. Many thanks to Seán O’Donoghue and the Sydney Computational Biologists’ Group for inspiring this idea. Your Meetup dues and $100 for your next meeting are on the ABN.
