Research Officer (Analytical), University of Melbourne 

School of Botany - Faculty of Science

Salary: $61,138 – $82,963 p.a. plus 9.25% superannuation  

The applicant will work under the direction of the Metabolomics Australia (MA) Principal Investigators and other senior members of the MA laboratory and contribute to programs funded by MA, a National Collaborative Research Infrastructure (NCRIS) investment with DEST. The objective of MA is to provide state-of-the-art metabolomics services to Australian researchers (from academia, industry and Government) with supporting computational and data storage capacity. This position will be based at the School of Botany node of MA.

The Research Officer is an Academic Specialist involved in delivering analytical metabolomics services to MA clients. The applicant will be actively involved in fostering partnerships with external scientists and organisations, encouraging collaborative research projects requiring specialist expertise, and performing analytical services. The applicant will be expected to interact closely with MA analytical and bioinformatics teams to develop and apply metabolomics methodology. The applicant will also provide specialised support in relation to the maintenance of instrumentation and training of MA clients.
