Software Developer (Bioinformatics) - Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

The Software Developer (Bioinformatics) will be involved in the development of computational pipelines for clinical sequencing and cancer trials. The pipeline analyses DNA sequence data to determine the presence of genetic variation (mutations) in patient samples. It calls upon a variety of bioinformatics tools and orchestrates their activity on high-performance computing systems. The successful applicant will join an existing team of software developers and bioinformaticians and work with the Peter MacCallum molecular pathology team. The Software Developer will contribute to the design and construction of a robust software system with exacting performance and quality requirements. They will work closely with developers of PathOS, a database and web application that provides laboratory scientists, curators and clinicians with a decision support system for processing the pipeline outputs.

This position is a 12 month fixed term full time opportunity and will commence ASAP.
