Associate Research Fellow in Bioinformatics - Deakin University

The Associate Research Fellow will initiate and conduct research in the area of Bioinformatics. Specifically this position will be part of the Bioinformatics Core Unit at Deakin University. The position will involve computer programming, systems administration, web page management and bioinformatics analysis. The newly established Bioinformatics Core Unit at Deakin University is a multidisciplinary team that interacts with a number of different schools across the University.

The Associate Research Fellow is expected to contribute to the research output of the Bioinformatics Core Unit at Deakin University. The successful candidate will join a research group that utilizes genome-wide technologies and approaches including genomic and epigenomic profiling and NGS. We use genomics-driven strategies to address a diverse range of biological studies. A requirement for this position is a high level programming ability (in an appropriate language) and a track record in bioinformatics. Emphasis will be given to candidates with a background in NGS analysis, with a focus on RNAseq and non-coding RNAs.

This is a new fixed-term (2 years) position funded by Deakin University with the view to build bioinformatics research within the University.
