Research Associate/Research Fellow - Bioinformatician - Curtin University

Are you an experienced bioinformatician with a strong background in next generation sequencing data analysis and comparative genomics?

We are looking for a highly motivated bioinformatician to join our growing team and contribute to the genomics revolution in crop disease research. The position is based within the Centre for Crop and Disease Management, a major new crop disease research centre with research funding of $100 million over five years.

As a research academic, your role will primarily involve genome assembly and analysis, gene annotation, RNA-seq analysis and comparative genomics of fungal pathogens. You will conduct nationally competitive research, disseminate research findings and publish in high-quality journals in collaboration with colleagues.

To be successful, you will need a doctoral qualification or progress towards a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline, and demonstrated skills in NGS data analysis, scripting and relevant software.

Evidence of an emerging research profile through publication in high-quality refereed journals combined with an excellent track record in bioinformatics and a keen interest in agriculture research are essential.
