The Climate Change Cluster (C3) at UTS are looking for someone who can work collaboratively within a diverse team of microbial ecologists, microalgae physiologists, molecular phylogeneticists and plant molecular biologists, as well as in the emerging field of advanced bioproducts from microalgae, in order to build bioinformatics research capacity and to contribute to a range of research projects across the group.
You will have a background in the following areas:
- PhD - Environmental Bioinformatics, biostatistics and molecular phylogenetics
- Expertise handling large data sets, data management systems and programming
- Some experience in laboratory-based DNA/RNA extraction techniques
- Experience in project and budget management and grant writing
The appointment will be made at a level appropriate to the appointee’s qualifications and experience. At the higher level, the appointee will be expected to provide research leadership and build research capacity in this research domain. An extremely good publication record for the career stage is critical.
This position will be based at the UTS City Campus.
