Senior Bioinformatician

The Monash Bioinformatics Platform is newly established facility that provides bioinformatics support to the University and affiliated organisations in partnership with research groups and facilities. It has a wide range of expertise in biological research fields requiring cutting-edge computational techniques such as genomics, proteomics and structural biology. It is also the hub for a distributed network of bioinformaticians embedded across the University, and a partner in technical training and infrastructure development.

In this position, you will take the lead in the bioinformatics component of research from the experimental design phase through to publication. This will primarily include analysing next generation sequencing datasets, collecting and archiving the metadata for these experiments and creating workflow pipelines to facilitate data processing, storage, retrieval and access by internal and external scientists.
