Postdoctoral bioinformatician, Sydney

We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral scientist with training or experience in bioinformatics to join the Breast Translational Oncology Program, Headed by Dr Alex Swarbrick and A/Prof. Sandra O’Toole. This program is a multidisciplinary group aiming to translate fundamental discoveries in transcriptomics, cell biology, functional genomics and genomics into advances in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

The incumbent will have two main responsibilities. The first is to train scientists in the use of informatic tools and to assist them in the interrogation of in-house and published ‘omic datasets (eg. TCGA, CCLE, ICGC).   The second is to conduct bioinformatics research to discover and validate biomarkers, in collaboration with laboratory scientists and clinicians.
