Proteomic Bioinformatician - University of Melbourne
We are seeking a Proteomic Bioinformatician to support the proteomics core facility at the University of Melbourne. The facility currently supports over 300 biochemists and chemists working across a variety of projects (eg cancer, immunology, Alzheimer's) that require support for proteomic analysis of their samples. Experience with software such as MaxQuant, MASCOT, Skyline, protein databases and similar is highly desirable.
The facility includes a dedicated 700 CPU high performance computer system along with multiple other servers for the analysis of proteomic data. The Bioinformatician will support the implementation of informatics solutions, data analysis and maintain our computational hardware and software.
The unique differentiating approach of the Bio21 Proteomics facility is to teach our users how to perform their own proteomic experiments and data analysis. The incumbent of this role will support a large number of projects and will act as a supervisor to students and staff as the projects progress.
This is an Academic Specialist role.
