Interested in understanding phylogenies?

We have a great (additional) opportunity as a result of the excellent EMBL-Australia Masterclass on Protein Sequence Analysis coming up this October... but we need to act fast!

Dr Aidan Budd will be in Australia for the Masterclass and has also very kindly offered to give one or perhaps two 1-day courses in Interpreting Phylogenies (along similar lines to this course).

In addition to the benefits of hearing from Aidan directly, this is a great chance to come together with colleagues who share interests in this topic.

One of the challenges of putting courses on is to ensure they attract enough participants to make the effort worthwhile. This becomes even more challenging when budgets are tight, time is scarce, and there are other events competing for our finite capacities.

So, to meet that challenge, we're gathering information about your interest in, and availability to attend an Interpreting Phylogenies course.

Course requirements and likely cost

  • You will need to bring a laptop preloaded with some easy to install (thus far!) software
  • At this stage, the cost will be around $75 for the day to defray some of the expenses
    (This is a not-for-profit venture!)

What do you need to do?

Please let us know if you are interested and available to participate by filling out the form below.

We will use your responses to decide how to proceed, and we will advise those who register their interest via email directly.
